Our Story

Interior of Antiche Sere trattoria in Torino

"Antiche sere" — the old evenings. Those long, unhurried suppers our grandparents knew, when a candle was lit at sunset and blown out only when the last guest was ready to leave.

We opened these doors in 1978, in the San Salvario quarter of Torino — then a working-class neighborhood of railway workers and market vendors, now one of the city's most beloved corners. Three generations of the Rovere family have cooked here since.

Our kitchen speaks Piemontese: tajarin rolled thin every morning, agnolotti del plin pinched by hand, beef braised slowly in Barolo from a producer we've bought from for thirty years. Vegetables come from the Porta Palazzo market at dawn, cheeses from the Langhe hills, wine from friends whose vines we've walked.

None of this is fashion. It is simply the way things taste best. Come sit under the vines, order too much wine, and stay a little too long. That is the whole point.
